LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The 21st BSA Golden Eagle Gala took place on Thursday night. It’s a beloved annual event aimed at celebrating and raising funds for local Gateway Scouting programs and Camp Decorah. As one of the BSA’s largest fundraisers of the year, 100% of the proceeds directly benefit local youth in the community.

Special guest speaker, Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame wide receiver Antonio Freeman, renowned for his on-field success, shared insights and values from his career to inspire the Scouts and their supporters. Reflecting on the importance of hard work, teamwork, and family influence, Freeman encouraged individuals to embrace change and pursue their dreams.

As a former Cub Scout himself, Freeman emphasized the significance of giving back and building a strong team. Freeman, who continues to provide motivational talks nationwide, expressed his love for Wisconsin and the warm reception from Packers fans.
