Packaging manufacturer heads to Kentucky

Packaging manufacturer opening facility in Ky.'s Rockcastle County, will create 150 new jobs

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (AP) -- Packaging manufacturer Anchor Packaging is planning to locate in Kentucky's Rockcastle County, bringing a $7.6 million investment and 150 new jobs.

Anchor Packaging was founded in St. Louis nearly 50 years ago. The company makes specialized packaging products for the food service industry.

Gov. Steve Beshear's office said the company will locate in a 165,000-square-foot facility.

The state has given preliminary approval to a tax incentive package of up to $4 million.
