Pacific Cycle recalls about 5,500 swing sets

WASHINGTON (AP) — Pacific Cycle Inc. is recalling about 5,500 swing sets that because the swing seats can crack or split, which could lead users to possibly fall.

The Madison. Wis., company has received five reports of the sling-style swing seats breaking during use, with minor injuries such as bruises and scrapes reported.

The Playsafe Dartmouth swing sets were sold exclusively at Toys R Us stores for about $270 from January through May.

The swing set involved in the recall has model number 22-PS340, with date codes FSD0115AA and FSD0315AA. The model number and date code are in the owner's manual.

The swing set has six metal legs and includes two swings with yellow plastic sling-style seats, a yellow plastic sliding board, a two-person glider with yellow plastic seats, yellow plastic trapeze hanging rings and a four-person lawn swing with yellow plastic seats and a footboard.

Pacific Cycle and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advise consumers to immediately stop using the swing seats and remove them. Consumers should call Pacific Cycle to receive free replacement seats.
