Overnight: Pedestrian struck and killed in Uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed overnight in Uptown, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 4 a.m. near Graham Street and 9th Street. A pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle was found suffering from injuries and was pronounced dead.

Details surrounding the exact circumstances of the incident have not yet been released.

Queen City News is on scene and working to learn more information.

The intersection has been shut down and road closures were expected to last through the morning commute.
