Overnight construction to close I-20 at US 283 Bridge intersection in Baird

BAIRD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A contractor hired by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin overnight construction of the US 283 Bridge on Tuesday.

From 7:00 p.m. on March 5th until 6:00 a.m. on March 6th, both eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 20 will be closed at the intersection of US 283 while the contractor sets caps on the bridge columns.

TxDOT proposes I-20 West Widening Project in Abilene

Drivers will need to take a detour on frontage roads before rejoining I-20. The roads will reopen once construction is finished.

TxDOT requests that drivers in the area use caution, obey warning and speed signs, reduce speed, avoid distractions, and watch for crews and equipment.
