Victim identified in Baton Rouge overnight shooting, one injured

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a reported shooting on Sunday morning that left one injured and one dead.

According to police, officers were responding to multiple shots around 3 a.m. on Sunday in the 300 block of Riverlon Avenue. An unknown vehicle was reported on the road in the front of the house at the location.

Officials confirmed Leonel Valey-Morales, 27, died from a gunshot wound and another male victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they have no motive or suspects determined at this time.
