Overland Park police looking for suspect in I-435 road rage shooting incident

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Overland Park Police Department is investigating a road rage shooting incident Tuesday.

Police received a report shortly before 6 a.m. of the incident that happened on westbound Interstate 435 near U.S. 69 Highway.

The victim told police that while traveling on westbound I-435, approaching U.S. 69 in the inside lane, the driver of a vehicle in front was traveling in the same lane but at a slower pace.

According to the victim, he moved over one lane and began to pass the suspect vehicle. While passing, the suspect vehicle swerved into the victim’s vehicle, making contact.

As the victim began to pull to the shoulder of the highway, the driver side rear window shattered. A bullet hole was later located in the driver side headrest, according to police.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white four door sedan.
