Over 400 vehicles passed through Lodi DUI checkpoint

(FOX40.COM) — A DUI Checkpoint held by the Lodi Police Department on Saturday resulted in eight arrests, according to the police department.

From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Cherokee Lane the police department contacted over 450 vehicles.

Along with the eight arrests, 22 people were cited for operating a vehicle without a license or a suspended/revoked license.

“DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes,” the police department wrote. “The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.”

The Lodi Police Department will hold another DUI checkpoint in the near future.
