Three victims killed in a multivehicle crash on Loop 202 in Phoenix on New Year's Day have been identified by the Arizona Department of Public Safety as Juan Carlos Gaspar, his wife Selma and 12-year-old son Carlos.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound lane of Loop 202 at milepost 57.

Officers learned that 23-year-old Ariyan Guy, was driving a blue Ford Fusion at a high speed when he struck a Chevrolet Suburban traveling east on Loop 202. The Suburban rotated clockwise from the impact and landed in a desert area from the roadway after rolling multiple times, according to court documents.

There were six people in the Suburban. Five of those people were ejected when the vehicle rolled over.

The three other occupants of the Suburban were transported to a hospital in Chandler with serious injuries.

The teenage girl in Guy's passenger seat was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, court documents state.

Guy admitted to authorities that he had purchased alcoholic beverages and had consumed the alcoholic beverages while driving. He was arrested Sunday night and was later booked into Maricopa County Jail where he was charged with three counts of reckless manslaughter and four counts of aggravated assault with serious physical injury.

The family of the three victims killed in the accident have raised over $28,000 of their $100,000 goal through GoFundMe in order to fund funeral expenses. GoFundMe confirmed the veracity of their fundraiser.
