Get Outdoors Nevada with NV Energy

In recognition of Earth Month, more than 170 NV Energy employees and their families volunteered with Get Outdoors Nevada to pick up trash and clean picnic tables and benches at Freedom Park in East Las Vegas. This annual volunteer event is one example of NV Energy’s long-standing partnership with Get Outdoors Nevada that dates back to 2003.

“Collaborations like this with environmental partners like Get Outdoors Nevada is a win-win for all,” said Angel Williams, NV Energy’s Director of Community Relations. “Earth Day volunteer opportunities are very popular among our NV Energy team of employees, but tending to the earth and the environment is a year-round commitment as well for us.”

The NV Energy Foundation has supported Get Outdoors Nevada with $267,500 over the last 20 years to support their efforts to encourage others to discover and connect our state’s natural wonders and unique landscapes—including a recent grant for $15,000 for their Eastside-Outside community-based initiative serving East Las Vegas.
