Australians can tolerate a lot of things. Being hounded with questions on whether they'd like "shrimp on the barbie." Terrible impersonations of Crocodile Dundee

One thing they will not tolerate, however, is abominable representations of their food. That's something U.S. restaurant chain Outback Steakhouse has been guilty of doing for years.

While the chain's Aussie-tizers and Foster's Beer Cheese Fondue are enough to send any self-respecting Australian into a conniption, Outback Steakhouse has taken it one step further with its upcoming "Big Australia" promotional menu.

It features the repugnant looking Loaded Bloomin' Onion, consisting of fried onions topped with so-called Aussie Cheese Fries, filled up with a gloopy mix of bacon, cheddar and ranch dressing. The company might as well spit in an Australian's face while it's at it.

At 2,360 calories (9,874 kilojoules), according to PEOPLE magazine, it's a nasty piece of work that's surely designed for American appetites.

Also on the "Big Australia" menu is the dinky-di 18-ounce (510 gram) Center Cut Sirloin, a fair dinkum Béarnaise Jumbo Shrimp-topped Filet and a ripper Giant Crab-stuffed Lobster Tail, according to FoodbeastIt's enough to make former Prime Minister Bob Hawke cry into his beer.

Surely if Outback Steakhouse did its research, they would know most Australians subsist on a lean and healthy diet of Winnie Blue cigarettes, meat pies and Victoria Bitter beer. Certainly not fried onions heaped with cheese and bacon, guys.
