Stars react to ‘Moonlight,’ ‘La La Land’ Oscars mix-up
In a shocking upset, Moonlight won best picture at this year’s Academy Awards, but only after an onstage mix-up when La La Land was first declared the winner. The announcement came after the La La Land producers had already taken to the stage and started to give an acceptance speech, and the news that Moonlight was the real winner sent shockwaves throughout the Dolby Theatre — and across Twitter.
Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty announced Best Picture, but they apparently read from the card that named Emma Stone as the Best Actress for La La Land. After the show, Moonlight director Barry Jenkins tweeted a photo of the correct announcement card, with Moonlight as the real winner.

More than a few people drew comparisons between the Oscars and Steve Harvey’s 2015 Miss Universe gaffe when he announced the wrong winner. Even the official Miss Universe Twitter account and the 2015 Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, weighed in.
Have your people call our people – we know what to do. #Oscars #MissUniverse

As for The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan, master of the out-of-nowhere plot twist, he claimed credit for the whole thing.
I wrote the ending of the academy awards 2017. @jimmykimmel we really got them!
