OSBI discusses details in case of missing Texas County women

TEXAS COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigating is holding a news conference on Monday regarding two women who were reported missing in March.

According to the OSBI, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department requested the bureau’s help on March 30 to investigate the suspicious disappearance of 27-year-old Veronica Butler and 39-year-old Jilian Kelley.

Officials say the two were traveling together to pick up children, but never made it to their destination. Their car was found abandoned near Highway 95 and Road L, south of Elkhart, Kansas in rural Texas Co.

On Saturday, April 13, four people were arrested in connection to the two missing Kansas women. Tifany Adams, 54, and Tad Cullum, 43, Cole Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44 were all taken into custody.

One day later, the OSBI announced the bodies of two people were found in rural Oklahoma.

The OSBI held a conference on Monday, April 15, to discuss more about the investigation.

“This case was tragic. You have two people who are, who are dead and four people who have committed an absolutely brutal crime,” said Hunter McKee with OSBI. “That’s why it took every agency involved in this in order to get this done.”

During the conference, officials were unable to confirm the bodies found were Kelley and Butler, but did say this was a targeted case.

The investigation is still ongoing.
