New Orleans RTA announces return of Rampart-Loyola streetcar line, summer schedule
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Leaders with the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority have announced that the Rampart-Loyola streetcar line is returning to operation after almost five years.
RTA leaders said the streetcar line will be back in service starting Sunday, May 19. The route was suspended after the collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel in October 2019.
According to the RTA website, the streetcar line’s return was delayed over the years due to repair work, the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Ida.
