New Orleans police arrest three in ‘gang-related’ drug investigation

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Three people have been arrested as a result of an ongoing multi-jurisdiction task force investigation.
The New Orleans Police Department announced on Tuesday, March 26, that the task force was able to identify individuals suspected of gang-related drug distribution and violent crimes.

The task force consists of NOPD Seventh District detectives, FBI Special Agents, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and Slidell Police Officers.
On March 19, officials say search warrants were executed at a home in the 6700 block of Cindy Place and two other homes in Slidell. Law officials said they found:
896.5 grams of marijuana
Two grams of a white powder
Seven packets of edibles
600 grams of THC
Over $37,000 in U.S. Currency
One silver Honda Accord, allegedly stolen in a Seventh District residential burglary
One white Toyota Camry, allegedly stolen in a First District armed robbery
Multiple handguns and assault rifles including an AK-47 assault rifle allegedly stolen in a Fourth District residential burglary
Multiple rounds of assorted ammunition
The search resulted in the arrest of:
31-year-old Kenneth Jackson
Janard “NARDY” Walton
18-year-old Darvale Williams
NOPD officers say Jackson, Walton and Williams are facing charges of narcotics distribution, convicted felon with a firearm and possession of firearms in conjunction with narcotics trafficking.
The group is also being charged with violating several federal laws, according to the NOPD.
