Oregon State Police cited 15 drivers during scale bypass operation on I-84

LA GRANDE — Oregon State Police issued 15 citations on May 17 to commercial vehicle drivers bypassing the Oregon Department of Transportation scale house on Interstate 84 outside of La Grande, according to the OSP media log.

This was part of a scale bypass operation with ODOT and the Federal Motor Carrier Unit, according to OSP. Troopers near milepost 260 pulled over the commercial motor vehicles that failed to stop and escorted drivers to a designated ODOT inspection site.

The following drivers were cited for failure to stop and weigh:

• Savannah Ariel Harrison, 44, of House Springs, Missouri

• Kutmanali Bekbolot Uulu, 22, of Verona, Pennsylvania

• Joseph Hassan Russell, 31, of Columbus, Georgia

• Juan S. Cervantes Quiroga, 24, of Prosser, Washington

• Julio Enrique Sarmeiento, 57, of Hillsboro

• Kaan Kucuktepe, 29, of West Hills, California

• Alberto Nunez Garcia, 22, of Yuma, Arizona

• A. Jay Marchant, 49, of Henefer, Utah

• William Theodore Newman, 27, of Shelton, Washington

• Andrew Kanane, 31

• Thomas James Parker, 36, of San Tan Valley, Arizona

• Gregorio Ramirez, 37, of Caldwell, Idaho

• Jesus Serratosramirez, 35

• Teresa Jo Hugo, 42

Uulu, Sarmeiento, Nunez Garcia, Parker and Ramirez each received two citations.
