On Thursday, Brooks, who stars as Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson on the Netflix original series, tweeted, “I hate when gate agents look at me like I’ve never flown first class and say ‘You’re in first class, lucky you! Really tho.”
The post has since been deleted, but many responded on social media, calling Brooks out for “pulling the race card” and being “stuck up.”

@thedanieb they probably just meant you're lucky because the first class seats are larger. I doubt you can fit in a standard seat.

I've never flown 1st class. If I do, I won't be as elitist @thedanieb (until now I never heard of) as to act like a snob. #nosilverspoon

@DanielleBrooks The correct response to "Lucky You" when flying first class is "Yes I am lucky" because you are. Enjoy it while it lasts.

@thedanieb So humble of you. STFU. It's a generalized comment because guess what YOU ARE LUCKY to fly in first class. Not everyone can. STFU
