Fashion blogger, designer, and model Gabi Gregg just dropped the mic on cellulite. In an Instagram post from her latest photoshoot, Gregg showed how the appearance of cellulite can change in the blink of an eye.

For GabiFresh’s new line with Swimsuits for All, she modeled some new plus-sized swimsuits. And while she was strutting her stuff, a video shows that the cellulite on her thighs — which many of us struggle accepting on our bodies — can actually look like it’s no longer there based on the lighting.

As she captioned her optical illusion vid:

“Reminder that cellulite is normal and nothing to be ashamed of (and also depends on lighting! You can literally see mine “disappear” as I walk out of a shadow here).”

While society has deemed it unsightly, WebMD notes that cellulite is not actually a medical condition. It’s just a cosmetic feature that isn’t harmful and doesn’t even indicate that you are overweight. So beyond it being an optical illusion that sometimes your cellulite may not even be noticeable, the bigger point that Gregg is making is that cellulite’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Gregg is all about body-positivity and creating fashionable looks for plus-size women. The tagline for her Swimsuits for All line — “New Year Same You” — encourages that idea that people should accept their bodies as they are now. In January, when New Year’s resolutions are in full force and people are fixated on losing weight, this message is about loving who you are right now.

Yet, Gregg isn’t against setting healthy goals for yourself, as her partnership with Planet Fitness shows. But she is against societal pressures that make people feel like they must lose weight, which is so prevalent this time of year.

Gregg isn’t the first blogger to post about accepting your cellulite. (Kenzie Brenna started #CelluliteSaturday.) Or even the most well-known model to show off her cellulite. (Ashley Graham posted about embracing what society has deemed ugly.) However, since cellulite is so taboo, we want more people to proudly say that cellulite is nothing to worry about. After all, as Gregg’s video shows, it’s really in the eye of the beholder anyway.
