OpenTable buys mobile technology company JustChalo in $11 million deal
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- OpenTable Inc. said Thursday that it bought mobile technology company JustChalo Inc. in a stock-and-cash deal worth $11 million.
OpenTable, based in San Francisco, provides an online service for customers to make reservation at restaurants. It said the number of diners choosing to book via mobile devices accounted for 36 percent of North American users during the first quarter
The company said the expenses tied to the deal will reduce its full-year adjusted earnings per share by 2 cents in 2013.
A representative for OpenTable was not immediately available to discuss further details on the deal.
JustChalo, according to its website, is a technology company focused on the U.S. restaurant industry. It has offices in Saratoga, Calif., and Mumbai, India.
Shares of OpenTable rose $1.50 to close at $67.14.
