More than 500 hungry people have trekked to a burger shop in London to roll up their sleeves, take a deep breath, and attempt to devour the biggest burger anyone has ever laid eyes on - in under five minutes. Four people have successfully completed the mission since Tom Reaney, owner of Burger Bear, dreamed up the challenge in 2013. "I have a crazed passion for burgers," he says, "and came up with this beast while messing around on a really quiet afternoon." Unsurprisingly, crowds gathered soon after to see what this sexy thang was all about.

Although ginormous, the burger is inspired by Reaney's award-winning classic that put him on the map: dry-aged beef patty, double-smoked bacon, American cheese, and his insanely delicious from-scratch bacon jam on a sesame bun. The Burger Bear Picnic, which Reaney dubbed the challenge, is a bit more complex - it's FIVE of those dressed-up burgers, all dripping in a locally made hot sauce.

The record holder of the challenge is an anonymous 15-year-old, who downed the thing in - wait for it - 2 1/2 minutes. If you do successfully complete it, you get the otherwise $30 burger for free (heartburn included). Ready to take the plunge? You can find the giant burger, plus a whole menu of regular-sized ones, at Stokey Bears in London.
