Motorcyclist injured in north Wichita crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in north Wichita late Sunday afternoon.

According to Wichita Police Department Sergeant JD Summerer, around 4:45 p.m., officers received the report of a crash involving a motorcycle near West 21st Street and North Amidon Avenue.

Officers arrived and found a 32-year-old man with serious injuries to his lower extremities. He was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery.

“What we have is that I got a motorcyclist that was westbound here on 21st Street from Amidon, was involved in a collision with a vehicle that was trying to cross from the south side of Amidon to the north side of Amidon,” said Summerer.

An investigation is ongoing.
