VIDEO: One person wounded in Thursday night Abbeville motel shooting

ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY) — One person was wounded in a shooting in Abbeville Thursday night, authorities said.

Abbeville Police received a report at 11:21 p.m. Thursday of a shooting that occurred at a local motel, where officers found one victim with a gunshot wound.

Authorities said a suspect fired approximately 15 rounds at the victim at the front entrance to the motel, striking the victim in the upper left arm, barely missing the victim’s girlfriend and the motel manager.

The gunfire resulted in extensive damage to the motel and two vehicles parked near the front entrance receiving multiple bullet holes, police said.

The victim’s name was not released.

The Abbeville Police Department is currently looking for three occupants of a burgundy 2022 Dodge Charger with license plate number THX8621. The three subjects will each be charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder, officials said.
