One person taken to JRMC after vehicle strikes Jamestown Water Plant

May 15—JAMESTOWN — One person was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center to be checked out after a car struck the Jamestown Water Plant on Wednesday, May 15, said Lt. Andrew Staska of the Jamestown Police Department.

Staska said the crash happened at 10:54 a.m., and police are still investigating what happened. The plant is located at 325 17th St. SE.

"It appears that the vehicle struck the building kind of at an angle," he said. "... It sustained pretty heavy front-end damage and then driver's side damage as well."

Jamestown Area Ambulance took the male driver to JRMC to be checked out, he said. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

"We don't believe that the person was intoxicated or impaired from any substances," Staska said.

The water department was going to have someone inspect the building, he said.

"It did appear that there was some damage to the outside bricks but how much damage that caused I don't know," he said. "They were going to have someone come out and inspect it and give them a better answer."
