One man charged with shooting his brother; HCSO

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — An arrest has been made after a shooting in the Bay Springs area in Houston County on Saturday night.

Deputies arrested and charged Mark Anthony Rivers, 48, with Domestic Violence in the First Degree for allegedly shooting his brother.

Authorities were called to a home at the intersection of W.G. Bond Road and Community Road off U.S. Highway 84 in Houston County to a firearm assault.

When they arrived they found a 50-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen from what is believed to be from a small caliber handgun.

The victim was rushed to Flowers Hospital in Dothan to be treated for his injury.

Rivers is being held in Houston County Jail with no bond set in his case.
