1 person killed in Anson County crash: NC State Highway Patrol

ANSON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person was killed in an accident Monday morning in Anson County, according to NC State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the deadly crash occurred around 10 a.m. south of Wadesboro at N.C. 742 South near Capel Dairy Road. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Emergency Management said the crash involved a tractor trailer and a pickup truck.

Troopers have the road closed for about two miles. North Carolina Department of Transportation officials said the area should reopen by 3 p.m. Monday.

Drivers should use Capel Dairy Road to NC 109 South, follow NC 109 South for 1.7 miles, and turn left onto City Pond Road to get around the wreck.

The fatal crash remains under investigation by NC State Highway Patrol.
