BEAVER DAM, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in central Wisconsin say one person is dead and another is seriously injured after they were ejected from a motorcycle during a crash Saturday morning.

According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby alerted deputies at 10:30 a.m. of a motorcycle crash with serious injuries on State Highway 33 near Thompson Road in Beaver Dam.

Officials say a group of motorcycles were heading east on State Highway 33 and had begun to slow down in traffic due to another vehicle turning into a driveway.

One of the motorcycles is said to have lost control and both the driver, a 42-year-old man from Beaver Dam, and a passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Beaver Dam, were ejected from the vehicle.

The 42-year-old man was flown from the scene by UW Med Flight to a level 2 trauma center with life-threatening injuries. The 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither of the two people ejected from the motorcycle were wearing a helmet which officials say was a factor in the seriousness of the injuries suffered from the crash.
