Coffee Springs man dead in Geneva County Crash

GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A single-vehicle crash in Geneva County on Sunday has claimed the life of a Coffee Springs man.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say 70-year-old William Earl Hyde Jr. was fatally injured when the truck he was driving left the roadway and struck a culvert and several trees before overturning. Hyde Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

Geneva County Coroner Donny Atkinson says the vehicle was spotted in a wooded area along U.S. Highway 27 between Geneva and Enterprise, near the El Bethel Baptist Church in the Chancellor community.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
