One person dead, another wounded in Tuesday night Eunice shooting

EUNICE, La. (KLFY) — One man is dead and a young girl was injured in a shooting in Eunice Tuesday night, authorities said.

Eunice Police said officers responded at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 1000 block of W. Ash Street to a report of a shooting in which two peole had been shot. Officers found one man and one juvenile girl had been shot inside of the residence.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the female victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The names of the victims have not been released.

Officers obtained information that an altercation had occurred between two men prior to the shooting. One male suspect was taken into custody for questioning as the investigation is continuing.
