AMERICUS, Ind. — Tippecanoe County sheriff's deputies investigated a single-car fatal accident Wednesday on Old Indiana 25 near Sugar Creek Road, according to the sheriff's office.

The accident happened at 6:58 a.m. Wednesday, and the crash scene was about a mile south of Americus.

Michael York, 43, of Delphi, was driving northbound on Old Indiana 25 and veered left of center, crossed the southbound lanes and left the west side of the road, according to the sheriff's office and Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello.
