One injured in bus fire on Garden State Parkway in Wall that caused traffic backup
WALL − One passenger was taken to the hospital after a bus caught fire on the Garden State Parkway near the Judy Blume rest stop in Wall on Saturday morning.
State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron described the injuries as "minor." No other passengers were injured in the fire, which appeared to have gutted the entire bus, rendering it just shell of a metal frame. Lebron did not say how many passengers were on board or where the bus was traveling to and from.
Troopers responded to the scene at 9:23 a.m. to find the bus fully engulfed in flames on the southbound lanes of the Parkway. The bus was about ¼ mile north of the Judy Blume rest stop at mile marker 99.

The incident created a significant traffic back up on the parkway as several first aid trucks and fire engines responded to rescue passengers and extinguish the flames.
An Asbury Park Press reporter observed the bus on a trailer being prepared to be removed from the scene at 11:40 a.m. It was not possible to determine the company from the condition of bus. Meanwhile, another bus had arrived to transport the passengers.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and police did not provide any additional information.
