One-handed player to try out for CHL team

Scott Stafford was born without a left hand, but that will not prevent him from trying out for the Denver Cutthroats of the Central Hockey League.

"I've kind of used hockey to show people it's just a hand," Stafford told the Hamilton Spectator. "It's only a disability if you let it be. All my goals are short-handed."

Stafford, 23, played Junior B hockey and is currently in Denver, planning take part in the Cutthroats' open tryouts Saturday and Sunday.

"This kid is fun to watch. It really is amazing," Cutthroats head coach Derek Armstrong told The Denver Post.
