One dead after wreck near Florence

FLORENCE, Ala, (WHNT) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a Florence man is dead after a single-vehicle wreck near Florence.

ALEA said 39-year-old Jared Box was fatally injured when the 2020 GMC Yukon he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree at around 7 a.m. Friday.

The wreck occurred on Alabama 133 near Lewis Bruce Road about one mile north of Florence, according to authorities.

ALEA said Box was pronounced dead at the scene.

The agency said no further information is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
