One dead after weekend shooting at Luxe Daquiri Lounge

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One of the victims who was injured during a shooting in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 30 died as a result of his injuries, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

22-year-old Jahiddi Williams of Colorado Springs was shot around 12:35 a.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of the Luxe Daquiri Lounge on Galley Road. He and one other victim were taken to the hospital by other patrons of the lounge, both suffering from life-threatening injuries, CSPD said.

Williams died of his injuries. A third victim was also identified at the hospital.

CSPD said initial reports stated that an unknown number of people were shooting at each other in the parking lot of the lounge. When officers arrived, they saw several cars leaving the scene.

The El Paso County Coroner identified Williams on Monday, April 1. While the coroner will determine the official cause and manner of death, Williams’ death is being investigated as a homicide.

At this time, CSPD said it has not taken anyone into custody in relation to the shooting. Detectives continue to investigate the incident, including the development of potential suspect information.

This is the ninth homicide in the City of Colorado Springs in 2024. At this time in 2023, there had been five homicides.
