One dead, two hurt after COTA bus rear-ended

One person died, and two others suffered injuries Tuesday evening in a crash involving a COTA bus on East Livingston Avenue in Bexley, according to a Columbus Division of Police report.

Kevin Jones, 24, died in the crash that happened at 11:16 p.m. on East Livingston Avenue just west of Wellesley Road, police said.

The COTA bus was stopped at the intersection when Jones rear-ended the bus with a red Toyota Corolla, Columbus police said.

Medics took Jones to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center where he later died. The driver of the COTA bus and a passenger from Jones's car were also hospitalized but are in stable condition and are expected to survive.

The cause crash remains investigation, according to the police report.
