Woman killed after SUV hits tree: Police

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – A 24-year-old woman was killed in a crash early Monday morning after police say she was speeding and lost control.

The SUV, the woman was driving, hit a tree near the corner of St. Clair Avenue and E. 108th Street at about 12:45 a.m.

According to police, the woman was pronounced dead on the scene and a 22-year-old female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but, non-life-threatening injuries.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
