One person was found dead in a crashed vehicle and another was injured Sunday following a shooting on the South Side.

Columbus police were called to an apartment building on the 200 block of Buffalo Court just before 5 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

Officers found a gray sedan crashed into the tree line with the driver suffering from a gunshot wound. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived.

The two had a brief conversation, during which another person, the one who would be critically injured, approached them. They exchanged gunfire and the driver of the sedan crashed into the trees, police said.

Police have not released the names of the people involved.
