One dead after late-night Elmira shooting, police investigating

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — Police confirm one man is dead after a shooting in Elmira late Monday night that left a large police presence around one of the city’s business districts.

According to the Elmira Police Department, one man died at the hospital after being shot outside of a bar at 351 E Washington Ave, around 10:52 p.m. on Monday, May 21.

Police said that the victim wasn’t found at the scene, but learned that they were taken to a local hospital by a personal vehicle before police arrived.

Police said that the victim died at the hospital no other information is being released about the victim at this time, and no suspect has been named.
