One dead after crash involving semi in Berkshire Township

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) – One person is dead following a crash involving a semi-trailer in Delaware County on Monday morning.

The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Route 36 and Township Road 33 at about 10:37 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

William Stewart, 61, was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 southbound on Township Road 33, while a 2019 Freightliner commercial semi was traveling westbound on U.S. 36. Stewart failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the trailer of the semi, according to the OSHP.

Stewart was transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus where he died of his injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash. The OSHP said the crash remains under investigation.
