'One Day at a Time' star Bonnie Franklin undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The family of actress Bonnie Franklin says the "One Day At a Time" star has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

In a statement released by CBS, the family says Franklin is undergoing treatment and continuing her normal schedule.

The statement released Monday says Franklin and her family "remain extremely positive" and ask that her privacy be respected.

The 68-year-old Franklin starred as single mom Ann Romano in the hit CBS comedy "One Day at a Time," which aired from 1975 to 1984. Her co-stars included Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli.

Franklin's recent credits include appearances on "The Young and the Restless" and "Hot in Cleveland." The actress lives in Los Angeles.

Her family says Franklin is grateful for people's support and concern as she fights cancer.
