Motorcyclist killed in crash south of McConnell Air Force Base

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A 28-year-old Haysville motorcyclist was killed following a crash on Sunday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on 47th Street South near Woodlawn, south of McConnell Air Force Base.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office tells KSN News a man on a motorcycle was going east and crossed the center line, hitting a Buick Lacrosse head-on.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity hasn’t been released pending family notification.

Sgt. Lucas Powell said two cycles were going east when the crash occurred.

“It’s early in the investigation. We don’t have a lot of details, but we believe speed was probably a factor,” Powell said.

The sheriff’s office says there were no signs of alcohol/drug impairment.
