O'Malley, Emanuel Named as Democratic Convention Speakers

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will address the Democratic convention in early September, according to the Democratic National Convention Committee's latest list of speakers.

Also on the list are Former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and California Attorney General Kamala Harris.

Before becoming the mayor of Chicago, Emanuel was President Obama’s chief of staff. O’Malley, the current chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, is among a handful of Democrats being talked about for a 2016 presidential run.

Bill Clinton, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro and Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren have already been announced as speakers at the convention, and former president Jimmy Carter will deliver an address via video. The committee said it would announce additional speakers in the coming days.
