Olivia Munn mocks Mark Wahlberg over 'pay cut'
After it was reported that Mark Wahlberg had made a significant profit from reshooting All the Money in the World in the wake of Kevin Spacey being cut out of the movie, some people certainly had an opinion or two.
And Olivia Munn – who hosted last night's (January 11) Critics' Choice Awards – decided to voice those opinions out loud. To everyone.
As well as directing a not-so-subtle dig at the men who attended the Golden Globes last weekend ("they didn't really say much there"), Olivia went in on Wahlberg, who was said to have earned $1.5 million from All the Money in the World reshoots.
For perspective, it's reported that Michelle Williams earned just 1% of that from the reshoots with a standard expenses fee.
"I do want to say thank you to the producers for paying Niecy [Nash] and I the same amount of money and Mark Wahlberg $1 million," Olivia quipped.
"He took a pay cut, so that's really nice and generous of him. Thank you so much."
It was originally thought that Wahlberg and Williams did the film's necessary reshoots, that were required following Spacey's replacement with Christopher Plummer, for free.
In response to recent reports about the pay gap, US labour union SAG-AFTRA has affirmed that it supports equal pay between men and women but will not be investigating the matter.
"We are unambiguously in favour of pay equity between men and women in this industry and support every action to move in this direction," a spokesperson said in a statement.
All the Money in the World is out in cinemas now.
