Olive Hill teen charged with sexual abuse

Mar. 28—GRAYSON — An 18-year-old accused of performing sexual acts with a child under the age of 12 was booked into Carter County Detention Center this week.

According to court records, Noah Miller, of Olive Hill, was taken into custody from the Grayson Police Department on Monday afternoon as part of an execution of an indictment warrant.

Last month, a Carter County grand jury found probable cause to issue formal charges against Miller, alleging two counts of first-degree sexual abuse against a female child.

According to the indictment, Miller is accused of "having sexual contact and committing sexual acts" with the child in November 2023.

Presumably due to the age of the victim, the indictment includes few details of the abuse, but alleges the offenses took place Nov. 23 through Nov. 26.

In Kentucky, first-degree sexual abuse is a class C felony and carries a maximum punishment of up to 10 years in prison.

If Miller is convicted on both counts and his sentence is to run consecutive, he could face up to 20 years behind bars.

Miller is scheduled for arraignment before Carter County Circuit Judge Rebecca Phillips on April 15.

Court records indicate Miller posted a $50,000 bond and is currently not in custody.
