Olin posts 4Q revenue of $1.39 billion, result beats expectations

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) _ Olin Corp. (OLN) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $17.5 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Clayton, Missouri-based company said it had net income of 10 cents per share.

The chlor-alkali and ammunition producer' posted revenue of $1.39 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.36 billion.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $3.9 million, or 2 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $5.55 billion.

Olin shares have risen slightly more than 2 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $26.21, a climb of 61 percent in the last 12 months.
