Oklahoma seeks public input on Aging plan by March 15

By 2034, for the first time ever, the number of people over 60 will outnumber children under 18. This demographic shift will require a transformation in the way public, private, and non-profit groups approach priorities for older Oklahomans.

To support this change, Oklahoma Human Services is leading an effort to gather critical information from Oklahomans of all ages to help in the development of a Multisector Plan on Aging.

Oklahomans are encouraged to share their perspective on the challenges of aging and needs in their communities, through a brief online survey which closes March 15. The survey can be found at Oklahoma.Gov/Aging.

“Every Oklahoman has a stake in creating a plan for our future,” said Jeromy Buchanan, Director of Community Living, Aging and Protective Services (CAP) for Oklahoma Human Services. “Your input will help us ensure the plan addresses key challenges and needs in communities around our state.”
