OKCPS enrollment for 2024-25 school year now open

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City Public Schools says enrollment for 2024 -2025 school year is now open.

According to school officials, families are encouraged to enroll students now. Enrollment can be completed 100% online, with families able to find all available back to school details at okcps.org/enroll.

“Choosing OKCPS is all about getting a top-notch education that’s tailored to what you want and what your student needs. You can learn the traditional way at your neighborhood school, from anywhere with our e3 online program, or thrive at one of our special application schools,” OKCPS Superintendent Dr. Sean McDaniel explained. “In OKCPS, we believe that no matter how families go about it, their students will come out feeling ready to tackle the world in their own special way, surrounded by a lively and supportive community.”

For families who wish to enroll their student(s) in person, the district says its districtwide enrollment pod will be where families can make one stop, at one school, and complete the enrollment process for all of their students.

Every school site (with the exception of OKCPS application schools, alternative schools and pre-K centers) will be open for a districtwide enrollment POD on Saturday, April 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Classes begin August 13, 2024, and we encourage families to check out the instructional calendar for 2024-25 before the end of the current school year.

OKCPS say, families who are considering a transfer will need to complete and submit the transfer application by April 15 to receive early acceptance notification.

OKCPS’s free, full-day Pre-K is a destination of choice even for families outside district boundaries. Families whose students did not get a spot in their home district’s Pre-K lottery are invited to apply for a Pre-K transfer and join the OKCPS family! Families can learn more about the transfer process by visiting okcps.org/transfer.

A few other helpful tips for families:

  • If your student(s) needs immunizations for the fall, it’s not too early to get those now. Learn what vaccinations are required by state law by visiting the Vaccines for School page of the Oklahoma State Department of Health website.

  • If families need a birth certificate, they will need to request one from the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Summer and early fall are very busy for the Vital Records Office, so families should consider starting that process now. OSDH recommends using their online request form for the quickest turnaround.
