OKC mother in custody, officer on leave after shooting
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An Oklahoma City mother is in the Oklahoma County Jail and an Oklahoma City Police officer is on routine paid administrative leave after shots were fired at a NW OKC home.
Police said the incident happened May 5 near NW 63rd and May Avenue.

Court documents say the incident started when suspect Lisa Rae Daniels began acting strangely around her son. In an interview with police, Daniels son told authorities she was acting paranoid, telling him not to run away and then pointing a loaded weapon at home.
Documents say Daniels forced her son into a garage at gunpoint for hours and forced him to call his father, her ex-husband, and have him come to the scene.
Documents go on to say that once the ex-husband arrived, a scuffle began as a victim tried to get the gun away from Daniels. Documents say the scuffle ended with Daniels shooting her ex-husband.
According to the documents one of the victims was able to leave the home and get to safety while authorities arrived.
Police released body camera and dash camera video of the attempt to arrest Daniels.
In the video you can see an unidentified suspect hand an officer a weapon before police approach the home.
Daniels can be heard in the video telling an officer that she has a gun.
“We’re gonna need to come back up here, she’s saying she has a gun,” an officer said.
The same officer gives Daniels commands to come out of the home with her hands up, of which she responds by once again saying she has a gun.
In the same video, Daniels can be seen coming out of the home after officers back up with a sweater covering her right hand, pointed at officers.

“Drop it now,” an officer said while one officer attempts to use a taser on Daniels.
The taser attempt is unsuccessful, and Daniels gets closer to an officer with her arm raised.
“The officer believed Daniels had a gun and was pointing at him,” said Captain Valerie Littlejohn with OKCPD. “The officer discharged his firearm towards Daniels but she was not struck.”
Daniels starts walking across the lawn of the home in the video. Police said that allowed officers to see the item she was carrying and they were able to determine it was not a gun.
An officer uses their taser on Daniels again in the video and she is taken into custody.
Police said the two victims involved are stable.
Daniels was booked on a complaint of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police said the officer who fired his weapon will be on administrative leave until the investigation has been resolved. The investigation is still in its early stages.
