OJ Simpson gets parole - social media reacts
The decision to grant parole to OJ Simpson did not get a ringing endorsement on social media.
At best the reaction was sarcastic, with one Twitter wag blaming the former running back and actor for launching the Kardashian phenomenon.Robert Kardashian, the father of Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Rob, was a lawyer and a friend of Simpson who sat alongside him at the 1995 criminal trial at which he was cleared of murdering his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
If not for OJ Simpson, there would be no Kardashians. Make of that what thou wilt. https://t.co/fCR5QX543Z

His prominence at the trial paved the way for the Kardashian clan to become reality television stars and household names.
Other reactions were sarcastic, even suggesting that the 70-year old would be free to resume his football career.
One poster even wondered whether Simpson's release would see him resume his film acting career, though one suspects that the posting was tongue in cheek.
If OJ Simpson can say he has lived a conflict free life, than I can say I have always been an honors student.

OJ Simpson is the least-offensive person I've seen speaking into a microphone on CNN in like six months.

Another used the hearing as a tool to have a swipe at the cable news channel, CNN - a station which has regularly aroused Donald Trump's ire.
One poster, undeterred by the controversy surrounding Simpson, suggested he would be preferable as president to the current incumbent in the White House.
