Oil falls on fresh signs of global slowdown

Oil prices plunged Friday as bleak reports on U.S. job growth and manufacturing heightened worries about a slowing global economy. Here's how energy contracts traded:

On the New York Mercantile Exchange:

Crude dropped $3.30 to end at $83.23 per barrel.

Gasoline fell 6.59 cents to end at $2.6568 gallon.

Heating oil dropped 7.53 cents to end at $2.6279 per gallon.

Natural gas fell 9.6 cents to end at $2.326 per 1,000 cubic feet.

On the ICE Futures exchange in London:

Brent crude dropped $3.44 to end at $98.43 per barrel.
