Ohio man dies after hitting horse in road

SANDUSKY CO., Ohio (WJW) — A man died after hitting a horse in the roadway in Sandusky County Thursday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, it happened on County Road 32 south of County Road 85 in Madison Township.

At around 5:42 a.m., a 2015 Chevrolet Impala driven by Adam Madaras, 37, of Helena, was heading north on County Road 32 Near County Road 85.

Madaras struck the horse, went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Madaras was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter but died from his injuries.

The horse also died, according to the state patrol.

The crash is still under investigation.
